Dubbo is most famous for two of its attractions - the Taronga Western Plains Zoo and the Old Dubbo Gaol. Old Dubbo Gaol has been restored to create a fun and informative exhibit of what prison life was like in the 19th century.

Other sights include the Western Plains Cultural Centre (an art gallery and museum) and Australia's oldest slab house Dundullimal Homestead. If you're feeling active hit the racetrack at Dubbo Kart Club or take a relaxing horseback trail ride from the Western Plains Riding Centre. There's also the Orana Dragon Boat, crewed by 18 paddlers alontg the Macquarie River.
