Is insurance included?
Yes! All prices quoted on this website have Full Comprehensive Insurance already included within the daily rate.
Just like your own car insurance there is a excess or liability fee. This is the amount you are required to pay in case of an accident, regardless of fault.
The good news is that you can pay an additional daily surcharge at the depot to reduce the standard liability. Below rates are subject to change.

Compact, Standard & Economy Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $4,560.00. This can be reduced to $630.00 by paying an additional $30.00 per day (Metro) or $37.00 per day (Remote).
Heavy Trucks & 4WD
For Heavy Trucks and 4WD vehicles the Standard Liability is $6,000.00 which can be reduced to $1,710.00 by paying an additional $30.00 per day (Metro) or $37.00 per day (Remote).
For rentals of 28 days or more Budget offer a reduced liability reduction option for Metro and Remote, enquire upon pickup of your vehicle.
Europcar
Economy,Compact, Standard, Full Size & 8 Seater Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $5500
Option 1
The liability can be reduced to $1,100 by paying an additional $13.20 - $39.60 (depending on rental length) per day (incl GST) but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport. Excludes windscreen, headlight and tyre cover.
Option 2
The liability can be reduced to $550 by paying an additional $16.50 - $45.10 (depending on rental length) per day (incl GST) but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport. This Includes windscreen, headlight and tyre cover.
Option 3
The liability can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $19.80 - $53.90 (depending on rental length) per day (incl GST) but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport. This Includes windscreen, headlight and tyre cover.
4WD Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $7,590
Option 1
The liability can be reduced to $1,100 by paying an additional $32.45 - $67.10 (depending on rental length) per day (incl GST) but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport. Excludes windscreen, headlight and tyre cover.
Luxury Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of between $7,920 - $9,570
Option1
The liability can be reduced to $1,210 by paying an additional $56.10 (incl GST) per day but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport. Excludes windscreen, headlight and tyre cover.
Option 2
The liability can be reduced to $605 by paying an additional $67.10 per day (incl GST) but excludes airport tax if pick up location is an airport.
Budget
Compact, Standard & Economy Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $4,500.00. This can be reduced to $630.00 by paying an additional $30.00 per day (Metro) or $37.00 per day (Remote).

Have a Standard Liability of $4,560. This can be reduced to $440 by paying an additional $27 per day. A $2,200 Single Vehicle Accident liability applies. This option includes tyre & windscreen damage cover except for rentals in Broome or Kununurra. The premium cover can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $32 per day. Single Vehicle Accident liability is waived. This option includes tyre & windscreen cover. A capped charge of 10 days maximum per 30 day rental applies.
Exception: Country or remote locations may not allow you to reduce to $0 and will have a Single Vehicle Accident liability of $2,200.
Premium & Minivan Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $6,301. This can be reduced by paying an additional amount per day. A $2,200 Single Vehicle Accident liability applies. This option includes tyre & windscreen damage cover except for rentals in Broome or Kununurra. The premium cover can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $43 per day. Single Vehicle Accident liability is waived. This option includes tyre & windscreen cover. A capped charge of 10 days maximum per 30 day rental applies.

Fun, Prestige & 4WD Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $6,001. This can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $43 or $54 per day respectively. A $2,200 Single Vehicle Accident liability applies.
SVA (Single Vehicle Accident) does not apply to Tasmania. Tasmania has a non-waivable $9,900 Standard Liability on unsealed roads.

Thrifty
Compact, Economy & Standard Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $4,000. This can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $33 per day.
4WD Vehicles
Have a Standard Liability of $5,500 which can be reduced to $0 by paying an additional $33 per day.
