The town of Brunswick Heads sits at the mouth of the Brunswick River 15min drive north of Byron Bay and 30min drive south of Coolangatta Airport. This traditional coastal village is an ideal place for relaxing and enjoying beautiful, quiet beaches.

On the river's southern bank, find the protected Torakina Beach, with a white sandy surf beach to the south. This is also where the harbour and small marina are found. The north bank is lined with a protected rainforest with shady picnic areas, gentle nature walks, and great birdwatching.

The surrounding hinterland includes Mount Chincogan and Mount Warning. An hour's drive inland, Mount Warning is the first place in Australia's mainland to receive sunlight each day. The 5hr round-trip trek to the top is popular, albeit discouraged out of respect for Indigenous culture.
